Aquapak will be exhibiting and speaking at The World Biogas Expo 2020 taking place online from 6th – 8th October.
CTO of Aquapak, Dr John Williams, will discuss how digestible packaging, such as anaerobic digestion (AD) bags made from Hydropol, could be a gamechanger for the AD industry on 7th October at 14.00 BST.
AD bags made using Aquapak’s water soluble and marine-safe polymer, Hydropol, can be used to collect food waste and convert it into energy and fertiliser as the bags break down fully in the AD system. This can minimise the amount of food waste going to landfill and save valuable fossil fuels.
The bags benefit from excellent strength, barrier properties and clarity and are suitable for mesophilic and thermophilic systems. Once they’ve been fully digested, they won’t form microplastics in the digestate and meet the requirements of PAS 110
The event was originally planned to be held at the NEC in Birmingham – not far from Aquapak’s Head Office and Manufacturing Facility where our trademark polymer Hydropol is made – but has moved to an online platform due to COVID19.
