Aquapak Polymers was delighted to be one of two Birmingham-based manufacturers that were visited recently by the UK Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, Alok Sharmatogether with the Mayor of West Midlands, Andy Street and Northfield MP, Gary Sambrook.

Mr Sharma’s visit to the West Midlands region at the end of September, ahead of the virtual Conservative Party Conference, was to meet innovative businesses that are driving the green recovery, pioneering sustainable technology and providing jobs and growth in their local communities.

The guests were given a tour of Aquapak’s 50,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, which highlighted how businesses like ours have continued to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic by making their workplace safe and covid-secure for both employees, customers and visitors.

They were also shown some of the applications our pelletised resin, Hydropol, is used for by our global network of manufacturing and sales partners, including PPE (such as infection control bags, aprons, gloves and laundry bags) plus retail garment bags, laminated packaging and waste food collection bags.

The visit also gave our team the opportunity to talk directly to the Government about the challenges and opportunities we and other innovative West Midlands’ businesses experience and discuss initiatives to help growth and create jobs.

Footage of their visit and factory tour was included in a video presented by Alok Sharma (watch the full video here: https://twitter.com/AquapakPolymers/status/1314554248567361536) to share Government initiatives for backing business, unleashing innovation, tackling climate change and fighting Coronavirus.
