Hydropol Life-cycle Assessment published

Aquapak recently commissioned a standard Life-cycle Assessment (LCA) to look at the amount of energy it takes to produce Hydropol polymer, which is outlined in the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

An EPD is an independently verified and registered document that shares clear and comparable information about the lifecycle environmental impact of certain products.

The goal of this study was to generate an environmental profile of Hydropol polymer pellets to better understand the associated lifecycle environmental impacts and to allow a Type III EPD to be generated and made public via the International EPD System.

Dr Elizabeth Smith, Technical Manager at Aquapak Polymers, said: “As we’re an environmental polymer producer, many of our customers ask for this information as part of their due diligence on our credentials; so it is great to have this EPD documenting Hydropol’s life cycle.”
