Laundry Bags made using Hydropol nominated for Laundry & Drycleaning Awards

Water soluble laundry bags made from Aquapak’s patent protected polymer, Hydropol, have been nominated for Best New Product at this year’s Laundry and Drycleaning Awards (LADAs).

The LADAs aim to recognise companies, individuals, services and products whose contributions are making a difference in the laundry and dry-cleaning industry. Dissolvable laundry bags and infection control bags have gained more exposure in recent months as a protective infection control measure to minimise the spread of coronavirus.

The bags completely dissolve in warm or hot wash cycles without leaving any residue and have been particularly useful for keyworkers and frontline staff (working in hospitals, care homes, schools and shops) bringing their work clothes/uniform home without the risk of bringing the infection home too. The marine-safe bags can be put directly into the washing machine and don’t cause environmental problems in the waste-water stream thanks to their solubility.

Mark Lapping, CEO of Aquapak Polymers, said: “We’re delighted that Hydropol has been recognised for the positive impact its been making within the industry and across numerous sectors especially in light of COVID-19.

“These laundry bags, made from our innovative technology, are not only functional but provide real world benefits during a time when they’re needed the most, without any environmental impact.”
